AB Ascaris  lumbricoides,  an  intestinal  roundworm,  is  a  soil-transmitted  helminth  and  one  of  the  most  common  parasites  in  the  world.  It  causes  a  variety  of  clinical  manifestations  known  as  ascariasis.  Although  A  lumbricoides  infects  nearly  1  billion  people  worldwide  and  causes  significant  morbidity,  it  remains  a  neglected  tropical  disease.
