The child had no abdominal or gastrointestinal complaints. On examination, he had left-sided abdominal firmness. An ultrasound revealed a mass that appeared to originate from the kidney. He was referred to pediatric oncology. CT scan of the abdomen confirmed a large kidney mass with displacement of the structures within the left abdomen, most consistent with a Wilms tumor (Figure 213-1). Work-up for metastatic disease, including a chest CT was negative. The patient underwent nephrectomy (Figure 213-2). Pathology of the mass revealed Wilms tumor with favorable histology. The child received chemotherapy and has been tumor-free. SN - PB - McGraw-Hill Education CY - New York, NY Y2 - 2024/03/28 UR - accesspediatrics.mhmedical.com/content.aspx?aid=1114880205 ER -
