Manifestations of EBV infection are varied and range from asymptomatic infection to fulminant lymphoproliferative disease. EBV is also associated with a number of malignancies, including endemic Burkitt lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, Hodgkin disease, and a spectrum of posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease.
