AB Anthrax  is  an  acute  infectious  disease  caused  by  the  gram-positive,  encapsulated,  nonmotile,  spore-forming  rod  Bacillus  anthracis.  The  incubation  period  is  1  to  7  days  (may  be  longer  in  the  inhalation  form).  Person-to-person  transmission  from  cutaneous  lesions  rarely  occurs.
