AB A  progressive  mitochondrial  disorder  that  predominantly  affects  the  gray  matter  of  the  brain  and  is  characterized  by  the  clinical  triad  of  progressive  developmental  delay,  intractable  seizures,  and  liver  failure.  The  prognosis  is  generally  poor  and  exacerbations  can  be  triggered  by  stress  or  infections.
