AB Hereditary  desmoid  disease  (HDD)  is  a  variant  of  familial  adenomatous  polyposis  (FAP)  characterized  by  benign  extraintestinal  growths  of  fibrous  tissue  (hyperproliferation  of  epithelial  mesenchymal  tissues)  that  form  either  spontaneously  or  after  surgery.  These  tumors  can  become  large  and  aggressive,  compressing  abdominal  organs.
