AB Acute  colonic  pseudoobstruction  (ACPO)  characterized  by  clinical  signs,  symptoms,  and  radiographic  appearance  of  an  acute  large-bowel  obstruction  with  no  evidence  of  distal  colonic  obstruction.  The  colon  may  become  massively  dilated.  If  not  decompressed,  the  patient  risks  perforation,  peritonitis,  and  death.
