AB •  Incision  and  drainage  are  indicated  when  a  large,  localized,  and  tender  collection  of  pus  occurs  in  the  subcutaneous  tissues  beneath  the  skin  surface.•  When  the  diagnosis  is  unclear,  needle  aspiration  may  be  diagnostic.  This  is  particularly  helpful  for  deeper  infections.
