AB Ureaplasma  belongs  to  the  Mycoplasmataceae  family.  These  are  small  pleomorphic  bacteria  that  characteristically  lack  a  cell  wall.  The  genus  Ureaplasma  contains  2  species  capable  of  causing  human  infection,  U.  urealyticum  and  U.  parvum.
