AB Traumatic  brain  injury  is  a  leading  cause  of  death  and  disability  in  children.  In  the  United  States,  approximately  3000  children  and  adolescents  (0  to  16  years  of  age)  die  from  traumatic  brain  injury  each  year.  There  are  approximately  400,000  hospital  emergency  department  visits  and  29,000  hospitalizations  each  year  for  pediatric  head  trauma.1–4
